David Lampard

David Lampard, an Adelaide-based theatrical director and designer, needed a dynamic, modern portfolio to showcase his work. With recent shows taking him to New York, a static and outdated site was not going to be the showcase piece he needed to provide to potential clients and colleagues. Scott Reynolds was tasked with designing and developing a new web solution for David, and this started with a completely blank canvas. Through the design process, numerous designs were considered and workshopped, however only a few made it through the strict (self-inflicted) selection process.

Based on the WordPress platform, this site is easily updatable and is future proof to enable David to add future shows and portfolio items without having to call a web developer. It is fully responsive and adapts to the size of the device used to view the site. Making use of subtle CSS3 animations, the site is clean, modern, but completely visual – a design requirement from day one. While required to be very visual, the site also had to also ensure that visitors could easily find the information they were looking for in a very accessible way. The final and current design was simple, but effective.

As part of this project, some photography and videography work was completed to help provide existing and future content for the site. The site was built to accommodate video portfolio items and other visual elements, in addition to the standard photo galleries, and these will be added to the site in the near future.
